Brawa have for many years been known for their excellent, finely detailed illuminated street lights, signs & operating accessories. Many of these items can be used for UK outline layouts. Of particular interest is the illuminated “old style” British Telephone Box cat’ no.5443. Many of the streetlights are now available with a plug in base, which makes maintenance of the light & layout easier.
There is an extensive range of operating signals & route indicators.
The floodlights e.g. cat’ mo 5582 are very useful to illuminate large areas such as marshalling yards.
The “scenic” operating accessories include a ski lift cat’ no.6310 and a cable railway cat’ no. 6310.
Of the “railway” operating accessories the transverser cat’ no.1180 could be a real space saver & the container crane cat’ no.1161 could add fun & skill to operating the layout. The “slow action” level crossing barriers cat’ no.1194 also add operating realism.
Recently, Brawa have been producing a highly detailed range of quality locomotives & rolling stock. Locomotives range from the dimutive DB class 323 Köf (Diesel shunter @74mm long) cat’ no.42501 to the massive DRG class BR06 (4-8-4 streamline steam locomotive @ 305mm long) cat’ no.0634. The finely detailed Epoch’s II & III rolling stock is particularly of note.
Many of these items are also available in TT, N & Z gauges (it is also quite feasible to use some TT & N gauge lights on HO/OO layouts especially towards the rear of the layout to add perspective).
Also available is a useful range of spare bulbs/lamps, LED’s, lampholders & electrical accessories. The above is just a selection of the Brawa range of products.
Any Brawa item not in stock can usually be obtained within a few days.
BC TIP – never “run” bulbs at their rated voltage – use a supply of 50/75% of the full rated voltage – they will not only last a lot longer, they will look more realistic !. |
